DOM DOLLA RELEASES CLUB BANGER “PUMP THE BREAKS” – [LISTEN]

AUSTRALIAN DJ DROPS SICK NEW CLUB BEAT

Dom Dolla is back with his signature style, a looping beat that pulses techno-house like the drumming of an unflagging heart. The new single, titled “Pump The Brakes,” is a personal reference to Dom’s first car, beat up, disheveled, and most likely in desperate need of gas, a wash, and some TLC.

For Dom, that car is a time capsule, a moment from Dom’s former days, a snapshot of his club scene escapades and origins. The car invokes feelings of excitement and anticipation as well as nostalgia and longing.

When commenting on his most recent release, “I produced this record specifically to play at the Shrine in LA in early 2020, which turned out to be a few weeks before the world shut down.” He went on to further elaborate, “It was written as a tongue in cheek story partly inspired by my first car, an old Camry that collects dust in Melbourne while I’m away on tour.

I wasn’t sure what to do with the record when dance floors paused around the world. But I’ve received requests for it every other day since. All things considered, I figured it’s probably time to get it out there into the world.”

As you can see, Dom’s vibes are immaculate and humble – he normalizes rather than glamorizes, and he always remains cognizant of his roots and beginnings. He closed his commentary on the single with, “I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed giving it a rev on the dance floor.” The single itself is typical Dom, something to blast at the club with your hater-blockers on, fist pumping on the dance floor, boogying uncontrollably under a disco ball and perhaps some cute hanging plants. Immaculate vibes, indeed.

Heralding from sunny South Florida, I am a proud Florida Woman. In my free time, I surf the swamp, wrangle gators, open fan mail, and tend to my pets. In the wild, I'm most often spotted at immersive art spaces, step tappin' in a shadowed corner of the club, hater blockerz on, totally incognito as your resident EDM spice girl. Although I generally tout my spicy side, if there's one thing I'd love to impress upon the world, it would be this: it's not a waste to give love to those who do not deserve it – it's a gift. The world would be a better place if we gave, in kindness and in mercy, to those who need it most with no expectation in return.
