EDC LAS VEGAS STILL SCHEDULED FOR MAY ACCORDING TO PASQUALE ROTELLA – [READ]
EDC LAS VEGAS TRUDGES ONWARD
In a statement released late last week, EDC’s founder took to social media to make an announcement regarding the status of Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, one of the most anticipated festivals of the states every year, without fail. According to Pasquale Rotella, creator of Insomniac, “Full EDC LV update coming soon. But as of now, nothing has changed.” He went on to clarify, “If we can have a safe show in May, then we’re going to make it happen. If you don’t want to attend, or aren’t able to, no problem! You’ll have the option to transfer your ticket to 2022.”

This announcement didn’t exactly come as a surprise, although it certainly was provocative and controversial. Pasquale clarified his statement further by commenting, “If we’re not able to do the show in May, then we have backup dates ready & refunds if you can’t make our new dates.” And yes, you heard correct, refunds. Unlike many festivals, which weaseled their way out of paying full refunds, Pasquale put what his counterparts wouldn’t in writing. No matter what side of the argument you gravitate toward – whether you’re all for the idea of sweaty desert raves once more or you’re still paranoid about Covid – at least there’s optionality in terms of attendance and/or reimbursement.

Although Insomniac has demonstrated quick, on-their-feet thinking, most notably exhibited with their rise to livestream domination, the foundation of the company undeniably depends upon live music and massive gatherings. After a year of layoffs, endless remote livestreams, and a lot of ingenuity and patience, it’s understandable that the business side of Insomniac is pushing to generate revenue, enough revenue to at least recuperate some of last year’s losses. From our perspective, we don’t want to take sides, rather we have faith and trust in authority oversight as well as the science behind the vaccine.
While we wait for May, check out this EDC playlist for the vibes.
