NALA JOINS DIRTYBIRD WITH ‘PSYCHIC ATTACK’ EP + MUSIC VIDEO – [LISTEN]

Dirtybird welcomes its newest member, Nala, with her mind-bending ‘Psychic Attack’ EP.

‘Psychic Attack’ is a double-sided composition combining details of indie-electro and house. Both tracks feature Nala’s quintessential vocals and mesmeric soundscapes. Perhaps the most intriguing element of the EP is its deeper meaning, diving into the subject of mass media manipulation of the mind.

The title track, “Psychic Attack,” pays homage to Nala’s signature off-kilter sonics. Her eerie lyrics are paired with a hypnotic rhythm and infectious beat, having you rethinking everything you thought you knew about the world in a little under six minutes. The track is also accompanied by a spellbinding music video.

The second and final track on the EP, “Sun Is Hot,” takes a deeper approach. The song is held together by a strong bassline, sharp percussion, and Nala’s sultry vocals. While “Psychic Attack” is felt in the mind, “Sun Is Hot” is one for the soul.

A celebrated new member of the Dirtybird family, Nala has been introduced to the label by COO Aundy Crenshaw and Claude VonStroke himself. This alliance came after the artist built a strong reputation within the LA underground and developed strong ties with iconic promoter Lights Down Low. Before jumping into the West Coast scene, Nala established her roots in the Miami club scene, where she earned the label “DJ to Know About” by the Broward Palm Beach New Times.

Nala’s talents have led her to stages at Splash House, III Points, Ultra, and much more. There’s no doubt her career is headed in an uphill direction, especially since forging a relationship with Dirtybird Records. For now, check out Nala’s tantalizing ‘Psychic Attack’ EP below!

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
