LAIDBACK LUKE UNVEILS NEW TECHNO MONIKER DARK CHANELL – [LISTEN]

LAIDBACK LUKE MAKES A SENSATIONAL RETURN TO HIS TECHNO ROOTS BY UNVEILING HIS NEW DARK CHANELL ALIAS.

Laidback Luke is marking his debut as Dark Chanell by delivering a sensational EP, called ‘No.1’, which is out now via his own Mixmash Records imprint. His first EP showcases the DJ’s talents and high-energy sound with 4-tracks that are so distinctive and brings listeners through a techno wonderland.

Lucas Cornelis van Scheppingen, better known under his stage name, Laidback Luke, starts the EP with a punch during the first song “PURPUR,” a slick, electro-infused techno beat that’s driven forward by staccato synths, fragmented kicks and an arresting melody.

“OCTOGAN,” the next track on the EP has more of a techno sound with a bouncing bassline and stomping synths, making it the perfect song to shuffle to. “TROMMEL,” the third song in the EP, weaves in squelchy synths, driving beats and percussive elements for a hypnotic tune that channels dancefloor vibrations. His last trak on the EP, “TRAITOR,” embraces the DJs darker side, delivering a sublime brooding techno soundscape. This track will keep you on your feet for the entire 22 minutes.

The leading house and techno producer earned his techno credentials playing alongside contemporaries Adam Beyer, Marco Carola and UMEK, regularly gracing the same lineups as these techno giants. Later he garnered support from Marco Bailey and Joachim Garraud, who were instrumental in getting him to play major international events, such as I Love Techno and Techno Parade (respectively) with the esteemed producer also gracing the roster of Billy Nasty’s Theremin Agency as well as being made an Awakenings resident.

In the last few years, Luke has revisited his roots, playing a number of ‘Strictly Techno’ gigs. In 2016, he released two techno EPs under the name of ‘BOOM!’ which garnered the support of Ryan Elliot, Gerd Jansen, Ricard Villalobos and Zip. Now in 2021, with the unveiling of his new Dark Chanell moniker, Luke is making a much-anticipated return to the techno realm.
