SPLICE AND SERATO LAUNCH ARCADE-STYLE MUSIC PRODUCTION COMPETITION – [READ]
Two mega music software companies have come together to host a retro-inspired competition with a grand prize of $20,000.
Serato and Splice have both launched individual remix contests in the past, but now they are coming together to launch a new project for upcoming producers to take part in. Titled BeatFighter Slam Dunk, the retro-arcade style initiative is summoning beatmakers to make a song using one of the sounds from the Splice BeatFighter sound pack.
In order to take part in this head-to-head competition, participants must screen-record their Serato Studio session and upload it on Instagram with #SeratoBeatFighter. Entries close on March 28th so be sure to submit before then to be considered.
Entries are put through a selection process and if your beat impresses the judges, you could be one of the eight head-to-head competitors who fight until one song is left standing. People who place in the top three will receive bragging rights and $20,000, $4,000, and $1,000, respectively.
Splice has hosted a remix competition in the past — most notably Marshmello’s Alone Remix Contest. This project had particularly high stakes that gave the winner a Monstercat release and an opening set for the enigmatic DJ at Camp Bisco.

The famed DJ and production software company, Serato, released Serato Studio a few years ago, which helped propel the company into the world of DAWs. The software is very intuitive and is a great place for people interested in music production to begin their journey.
