DEADMAU5 LAUNCHES NEW LABEL HAU5TRAP – [READ]

DEADMAU5 EXCITES MUSIC COMMUNITY WITH RECORD LABEL DEBUT

To an outsider, the name deadmau5 might ring faint bells of sorts, but to the sickos of the underground rave scene, deadmau5 is an absolute legend. As the creator and lead maestro of mau5trap, his prolificacy has dominated the electronic music scene for more than a decade, and there is no end in sight.

Although his multi-genre label mau5trap became a staple of EDM, giving artists such as Skrillex, Feed Me, Dillon Francis, Noisia and many more a voice, deadmau5 continues to push the boundaries of what it means to be an artist in the space of EDM with the launching of a new label titled “hau5trap.”

As a novel broadcast promising to feature international heavy hitters, hau5trap plans to showcase the styles of a wide variety of eclectic artists, but all within the spectrum of house, which definitely breaks away from the typical feed of mau5trap. It seeks to evolve the genre of house, while also staying true to what house is all about – the looping of beat. And in the pursuit of evolving the art form, deadmau5 also plans to showcase new talent, placing a heavy emphasis on those growing their practice and body of work. From ATTLAS, to REZZ, to i_o as and more to come, hau5trap aligns its focus with the future – and the future is blindingly bright.

As for forthcoming music releases, look out for hau5trap 0001 by Tommy Trash featuring Daisy Guttridge, set to drop on March 4th. This first release, titled “Hiiigh,” reunited Tommy and Daisy for the first time since their 2019 collaboration”Let Me Go,” best known for also featuring i_o. This first release on hau5trap is intended to be a celebration of i_o’s life – it’s meant to pay homage and respect to all that i_o means to mau5trap listeners, and to the world.

Heralding from sunny South Florida, I am a proud Florida Woman. In my free time, I surf the swamp, wrangle gators, open fan mail, and tend to my pets. In the wild, I'm most often spotted at immersive art spaces, step tappin' in a shadowed corner of the club, hater blockerz on, totally incognito as your resident EDM spice girl. Although I generally tout my spicy side, if there's one thing I'd love to impress upon the world, it would be this: it's not a waste to give love to those who do not deserve it – it's a gift. The world would be a better place if we gave, in kindness and in mercy, to those who need it most with no expectation in return.
