WOOLI UNLEASHES HARDSTYLE-INFUSED DUBSTEP TUNE “THE CORE” – [LISTEN]
East Coast bass music producer Wooli is no stranger to complementing his heavy dubstep growls with vibrant melodic elements. His latest offering, “The Core”, brings the same grit with an intriguing hardstyle spin
The hard dance and dubstep hybrid marks Wooli‘s first release on Ophelia Records in over a year. The music label, founded by fellow producer Seven Lions, is widely regarded for its uplifting tunes and ethereal aesthetic. Ophelia Records is home to many talented electronic music producers and styles of music. “The Core” is a testament to the label’s diverse and expanding roster.
The three-and-a-half minute track masterfully replicates the sounds and textures found in early rave tunes, and juxtaposes them with the hard-hitting bass that energizes the current generation of headbangers and ravers. The combination of styles is sure to resonate with loyal fans and new listeners.
“The Core” was briefly teased during the artist’s headlining Park N’ Rave drive-in show for Insomniac Events in California last month. The socially-distanced event reinforced the feasibility of returning to concerts in a safe manner, and reminded bassheads why Wooli continues to dominate stages and music charts nationwide.
Even though last year brought an abrupt halt to the artist’s highly-anticipated tour with Excision and his newest stage, “The Evolution,” Wooli still found ways to elevate his brand and sound. Since then, the US tour has been postponed to the summer of this year and current tour dates range from June 4th to August 20th.
While we don’t know what this year holds in terms of raves or music, we find solace in the fact that artists and promotion companies are continuing to experiment and innovate. Whether the DJ is playing COVID-safe shows or reinventing himself in the studio, he is constantly evolving.
