CHEE BRINGS HEAT TO DEADBEATS WITH EXPLOSIVE ‘PARALYSIS ANALYSIS’ EP -[LISTEN]

South African producer CHEE makes massive strides in the experimental bass realm with his highly anticipated ‘Paralysis Analysis’ EP, out now on Deadbeats.

Today, CHEE reveals his 5-track extended play, which features a brand new track with Mr. Carmack, “Fight Club”. The EP also includes another fresh-pressed tune, “Lid On The Squid”, in addition to three wildly successful tracks that have been released over the course of the past few months.

‘Paralysis Analysis’ falls under the category of contemporary bass but boasts an innovative sound design. The collection blends textural synths with a geometric soundscape, unique to CHEE’s style.

In just the past few years, CHEE has proven to transcend the ordinary. ‘Paralysis Analysis’ solidifies the artist’s position on the frontlines of electronic dance music, only building on his previous success. His career has seen praise from industry frontrunners like Noisia, Amon Tobin, G Jones, Mat Zo, and many more.

“I was elated to have my good friend African Ginger work on the art for Turn Up and later have the opportunity to work with him on the final EP art,” says Chee. “I wanted the recurring theme to be a feeling of restraint & the need to escape, but partially being paralyzed by one’s own mind. The process of overanalyzing, causing one to freeze and be a prisoner of their own thoughts. I think a lot of people can relate to that feeling, especially after this last year, and I feel the art does the perfect job portraying that internal conflict a lot of us face daily.”

In April 2020, CHEE was dubbed a Billboard Dance Emerging Artist ahead of his ‘Quarter Inch’ EP, which was applauded heavily throughout the music mediasphere. As his sophomore EP, ‘Paralysis Analysis’ employs dance music themes sprinkled with mainstage bass and shows his detailed and compelling production style.

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
