CAMELPHAT SET TO LAUNCH EXCITING NEW IMPRINT IN SUMMER 2021 – [READ]

On February 18, the Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum pair, CamelPhat, announced that a new record label is officially on the way and launching in Summer 2021. They are calling on producers for demo submissions NOW!

CamelPhat, a British DJ and production duo, consisting of Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scala, made their impression in 2017 with their Grammy-nominated hit “Cola,” with Elderbrook, marking a turning point for dance music and becoming one of the biggest names in dance music with their melodic house-forward sound.

As established leading tastemakers in the electronic music industry, it comes as no surprise that their next step is releasing a record label. So far, CamelPhat has not released a name for the label, or if they’ll only offer house and techno music. But they are taking submissions now.

The powerhouse duo, Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scala, began their journey in Liverpool in 2004, where they met at a record shop, named 3 Beats Records. They released several songs under multiple names, such as The Bassline Hustlers, Men from Mars, and Da Mode. In 2010, they released their first recordings as CamelPhat on their own label with Vice Records. Starting in 2014, their songs started to appear on electronic music charts in the UK. In 2018, they signed to RCA Records.

In more recent years, they set the bar for electronic music globally, releasing show-stoppers like “Hypercolour” with Foals frontman Yannis Philippakis, “Breathe,” “For A Feeling” with Artbat, “Be Someone” alongside Jake Bugg, and “Panic Room”. Less than a month ago, their remix of “Lose Your Head” hit #1 on London’s Beatport top 10 charts. And in 2020, they released their album, “Dark Matter,” which you can listen to below.

This powerhouse duo planned to embark on their largest ever UK headline tour this year. Due to COVID-19, this tour has been pushed back a year and will start in March until April 2022. CamelPhat will bring their unique sound to Liverpool, Belfast, Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds and London. They are still planning to perform their biggest headline performance to date at Belfast’s Custom House Square on August 7.

We cannot wait to see where this new record takes CamelPhat and other producers who sign with their label. Producers are asked to send demos via SoundCloud links, here.
