A quote from the artist:

Indignation:
The title track of the EP, Indignation, sums up the general feeling I had when writing most of these tracks. That of a desire for justice, a desire for things to be better, and an empathetic anger for those that were impacted by this injustice. The relatively primal chord progression paired with those driving basses represents the beginning of the light at the end of the tunnel. A hopefulness in hard times, and a commitment to not letting these grievances die in vain.

Give Me Some Air:
After a few trades back and forth of ideas, I sent Kevin a mellow syncopated prog house idea. He reciprocated my general state of mind with the idea he sent back, “Give Me Some Air”. The past year has been stressful and anxiety inducing, and this track for the both of us is a way of expressing frustration with being able to escape that. It was honestly kind of amazing, it was as if he was reading my mind when writing the vocals.

Atonement:
I started Atonement in early May of last year, which is typically a rough month for me, and even more so after what happened at the end of May 2020. I originally drew inspiration from the style Habstrakt for this, and as mine and the world’s general anger progressed, the track got more and more angry. In that way, this track represents for me a metaphorical breaking of my chains; musically stylistically, emotionally, and mentally. Taking the weight off my shoulders.

Social Contract:
I wrote the first version of Social Contract on a nightime twitch stream in the middle of June, after initially hearing Kimberly Jones’ famous speech “How Can We Win”. This track serves as an anchor in time for my tipping point from hopelessness and fear, to a yearning for justice, and eventually to indignation. This track is me angrily screaming into the void. It’s me finally deciding I need to make sure I am contributing to improving our society, and using my relative influence for positive change.
