COACHELLA CANCELS APRIL 2021 EVENT – [READ]

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival will not be returning in April 2021.

Amidst the outbreak of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, was one of the first few festivals that had to cancel its event due to the pandemic, that was scheduled for April 2020. The festival was supposed to return in 2021 as two separate events in the same month, April 9th-11th and April 16th-18th.

Unfortunately, the dream of getting festival season back this upcoming year is slowly getting crushed. Just a few days ago, Dr. Cameron Kaiser announced via Twitter, as the public health officer of Riverside County, where the festival resides every year, that he signed a public health order cancelling Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

Following Coachella Valley’s cancellation, Stagecoach Country Music Festival, an event that follows Coachella’s back to back weekend dates, will also be cancelling its April 2021 dates, that was scheduled from April 23rd to April 25th.

With two major spring festival cancelled due to the local county orders and no official reschedule dates, many are wondering what the fat of festival season may be, as its ripe beginning is called off due to the safety measures taken in response to the pandemic.

Upon its’ first cancellation in 2020, the festival was rescheduled to new October 2020 dates, and as COVID-19 continues to become a rising global threat, the event is canceled for the remaining of 2021. The October rescheduled dates were cancelled due to the resurgence of COVID-19 and as it turns out, the same issue rolled over when the press release announcing 2021’s cancellation dates was revealed.

California has been the epicenter of the COVID-19 within the United States for quite a while now, even with some changes in the number of people affected by the pandemic, hundreds of deaths occur just in Lost Angeles county itself. With the surge of deaths and the attendees coming from different places in the world, it is best to cancel the 2021 event for the sake of the public health.
