SEVEN LIONS REVEALS THAT 2020 WAS “DEMOTIVATING” FOR HIS CAREER – [READ]

Seven Lions shares in a social media post that this past year has been extremely tough on his creative process but that the block resulted in a “Rush Over Me” remix and a forthcoming trance EP via Ophelia.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, the artist explains, “2020 was a strange and honestly really demotivating year for me. I was having a hard time feeling inspired and creative in the studio so I decided to just do some musical therapy and make old school trance remixes of some of my older tracks. I had a great time making these songs. They have a nostalgic vibe for me and it made me remember how much I love the process of making music, especially with zero expectations. It definitely worked and has brought me a lot of focus and I’ve been really happy just being at home and making loads of music that I’m excited to share with you down the line. For now I hope these songs bring you as much joy as they brought me!”

Aside from his music career, Seven Lions’ personal life has been in the spotlight quite a few times over the past year. In December, he launched a new merchandise line modeled by his wife, Emma, and their girlfriend, Courtney. The holiday collection includes an apron, a pair of coasters, a robe, a backpack, and more.

The merchandise line is unconventional and unique from what fans expect from their favorite artists. Nevertheless, Seven Lions has even included a Gem & Tauri dad hat. Gem & Tauri is the production/DJ duo that Emma and Courtney have formed together.

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
