FLUX PAVILION ANNOUNCES DEPARTURE FROM DUBSTEP GENRE – [READ]

Legendary DJ Distances Himself From Genre Of Origin

On January 11th, at dusk’s peak, Flux Pavilion took to Twitter for a big announcement. To the shock and dismay of his fan base, he proclaimed that, for him, Dubstep had grown stale. The replies came rolling in like a fast-rising tide as fans questioned the sudden statement, demanding a further explanation.

One fan’s commentary caught Flux’s eye and the acclaimed DJ elaborated on his novel perception, crediting dubstep with the inexorable movement of his “entire being. After positing this enigma of sorts, Flux promptly fell silent, responding no further, leaving fans to the devices of their own imagination.

Although the world may be unsure of where Flux Pavilion might go next, those that have been paying attention can be sure of his calling in music. At the age of 19-years old, Flux Pavilion, known as Joshua Steele by his close friends and family, released his first album – and it was off to the races from that point onward.

Flux has since sold out Red Rocks Amphitheater twice, notoriously topped charts, and was even sampled by Jay Z and Kanye West for “I Can’t Stop,” a hip-hop club classic. In addition to killing it in the studio, Flux plays the drums, guitar, saxophone, and piano, which undoubtedly added to the musicality of both his production and artistry. No matter where he goes moving forward – no matter what rivers he fords or what horizons he scours – one thing is for certain with Flux: success.

Heralding from sunny South Florida, I am a proud Florida Woman. In my free time, I surf the swamp, wrangle gators, open fan mail, and tend to my pets. In the wild, I'm most often spotted at immersive art spaces, step tappin' in a shadowed corner of the club, hater blockerz on, totally incognito as your resident EDM spice girl. Although I generally tout my spicy side, if there's one thing I'd love to impress upon the world, it would be this: it's not a waste to give love to those who do not deserve it – it's a gift. The world would be a better place if we gave, in kindness and in mercy, to those who need it most with no expectation in return.

What's your reaction?
