BLACK COFFEE AND MAXINE ASHLEY PRESENT NEW SINGLE “YOU NEED ME” – [LISTEN]

Following his Pharell Williams and Jozzy collaboration, Black Coffee strikes again with his new single “You Need Me” featuring Maxine Ashley, recently released on December 29th.

Although Black Coffee has established a particular sound for himself, he has managed to deliver a track that is able to stand out from the rest. “You Need Me” has cherubic piano chords and heartfelt vocals that allow the song to find the gray space between emotional muse and dancefloor hit. This is his fifth single from his highly anticipated upcoming album, Subconsciously. With a star-studded lineup composed of Pharrell Williams, Usher, and Celeste; it would be no surprise to see the LP top the charts. The album is set to release on February 5th.

The vocals help convey the true emotion of the track, and that is due to Maxine Ashley. The Bronx-born singer and model is no newcomer to the industry, having been discovered at the young age of thirteen by none other than Pharrell Williams. After working with the multi-hyphenate for some time, Ashley decided to go independent and take her career in another direction. She has since released a steady stream of songs and has even written for pop-star Ariana Grande.

Now viewed as one of the biggest stars of the global electronic music scene, Black Coffee’s eclectic production style has helped him garner recognition across the world. Aspects such as him being a catalyst in the South African DJ scene and a multi-award winning album shot Black Coffee into stardom. It was during that time that he received the opportunity to collaborate with the likes of Drake, Usher, Alicia Keys, and David Guetta.
