OBLI DROPS DEBUT EP ON ODESZA’S FOREIGN FAMILY COLLECTIVE – [LISTEN]

Earlier this December, LA-based music producer obli dropped his debut EP “Change,” a compilation of four smooth electronic beats, via ODESZA’S Foreign Family Collective. The track “Hold It” was the first song to be released prior to the EP dropping in full, and it received strong support from “Morning Becomes Eclectic” on KCRW 89.9FM, a popular network in LA. Originally from Newark, Ohio, obli moved to Los Angeles to join a band called Rooms, which eventually exposed him to electronic music, and the rest was history.

Obli was a recent addition to ODESZA’s Seattle-based Foreign Family Collective, but a strong one at that. Obli stood alongside other talented artists in FFC, which included Rufus Du Sol, Memba, Jai Wolf, Big Wild, pluko, and many others. Prior to joining FFC, obli caught the eyes of ODESZA with his two-track EP “recourse / hold you,” which featured gentle electronic melodies and guitar refrains. In 2021, obli plans to release remixes for Big Wild, mai.la, BRONSON, and ford., among other creative projects, which fans of FFC hungrily await.

Heralding from sunny South Florida, I am a proud Florida Woman. In my free time, I surf the swamp, wrangle gators, open fan mail, and tend to my pets. In the wild, I'm most often spotted at immersive art spaces, step tappin' in a shadowed corner of the club, hater blockerz on, totally incognito as your resident EDM spice girl. Although I generally tout my spicy side, if there's one thing I'd love to impress upon the world, it would be this: it's not a waste to give love to those who do not deserve it – it's a gift. The world would be a better place if we gave, in kindness and in mercy, to those who need it most with no expectation in return.
