CHARLOTTE DE WITTE DROPS EPIC TECHNO REMIX OF BOB MOSES AND ZHU’S “DESIRE” – [LISTEN]

Belgian-born Charlotte de Witte has just introduced her hot rendition of Bob Moses and Zhu’s “Desire” on Domino. The once sultry, melodic track has received a dark makeover, as de Witte boldly incorporates her techno finesse.

Charlotte de Witte’s “Desire” rework is over seven minutes long, allowing her plenty of space to delve into the mysterious avenues she likes to take. She layers the track with an infectious beat that is reminiscent of her signature style. As the song moves into its melodramatic chorus, de Witte picks up the pace with her striking command on the beat.

This brand new melodic techno remix offered by Charlotte de Witte follows Solomun’s dark edit and brings “Desire” full circle. It’s accompanied by an animated video by Airplan Studio and directed by Owen Brown, successfully completing the arc of the original interactive “Desire” music video. It does so by honing in on the blue character’s storyline of pleasure. Prior, Solomun’s version of “Desire” was paired with a video focused on the red character’s storyline of heartbreak.

Charlotte de Witte continually proves why she’s such a dominant force in the music scene. Her massive international performances, Mixmag & DJ Mag covers, high-ranking chart positions, and strong social media presence undoubtedly dubs her the queen of techno. Her boutique label KNTXT, which stands for purity, strength, and progression, allows her to organize events, release music, and curate radio shows.

The “Desire” remix from de Witte ties a beautiful knot on a remarkable year for Bob Moses, despite all the challenges brought about by coronavirus. Tom Howie and Jimmy Vallance brought their weekly BobCast streaming series to Twitch, in addition to release their 6-track EP, Desire. Finally, Falling into Focus – Live 2020, a concert film also directed by Owen Brown demonstrated their peak as creatives. The two performed on top of a skyscraping structure as nighttime struck, slowly descending down the structure.

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
