MAT ZO LAUNCHES GROUNDBREAKING IN-GAME MINECRAFT TOUR FOR NEW ALBUM

Leave it to Mat Zo to push the boundaries of virtual platforms and innovative technology to launch his album tour Illusion of Death further than we previously thought possible. With the support of the sensationally successful video game platform of Minecraft, Zo launches the world’s first live coded in-game music tour. With 5 performances in as many time zones and different openers at every stop, Zo promises a one of a kind online music experience unlike any the world has seen before.

After releasing his first album Damage Control (2013) under Astralwerks and Anjunabeats, Zo launched his own label Mad Zoo and released his sophomore album Self Assemble in 2016. Deciding to utilize the Mad Zoo label to further the careers of up and coming artists and invest in livestream technologies, Zo returned to Anjunabeats to release his 2020 album Illusion of Death. The highly anticipated album will be the soundtrack for the revolutionary in-game concert on the Minecraft gaming platform.

Zo had previously utilized Minecraft as a musical platform with Stratosfest earlier this fall and intends to further explore the capabilities of virtual technology to reimagine live performances as the world attempts to find normalcy and persevere through COVID.

Zo is already looking forward to the future; “Our next big accomplishment is using MIDI timecoding to control the visuals. This has never been done before in Minecraft, and it’s possibly the first time MIDI timecoding has been achieved in any interactive virtual event.”

The in-game venue for the trailblazing concert will undoubtedly blow us away. Minecraft allows players to create their own environments, leaving every creative decision in the hands of the groundbreaking EDM artist Zo. Joining him in the world’s first in-game concert include Luttrell, Rohaan and Inverted Silence yet the lineup changes with the time zones. In a truly innovative venture, Mat Zo once again amazes fans with his fearlessness and imagination.
