ULTRA FILES LAWSUIT FOR $800,000 AGAINST AG PRODUCTION SERVICES – [READ]

The cancellation of the Ultra Music Festival in March 2020 in Miami, FL was disappointing to thousands of EDM fans, yet COVID had hit hard and social distancing had to be practiced. Some optimistic fans are expecting tickets for 2021 to become available soon, yet COVID is not the only obstacle delaying ticket sales. Ultra’s parent company Ultra Enterprise is filing an $800,000 lawsuit against the staging company AG Production Services for refusing to refund their deposit.

Ultra is demanding AG return their deposit for the canceled music festival, citing the “force majeure” clause in the mutually agreed upon contract. The clause protects the investments of both parties should an “act of God” occur, in which case the contract is considered null and void without any penalties for either participant.

AG has responded to Ultra’s lawsuit by explaining the deposit money had been spent on equipment transportation, personnel travel, payroll expenses, and other various rental services necessary for staging the popular event. Ultra denounces this claim and insists none of their supplies or people had ever traveled down to the Bayfront Park venue in Miami due to the increasing threat level of COVID.

In an ironic twist, Ultra is also a defendant in a class-action lawsuit filed by ticket purchasers who were told no cash refund would be issued. Ultra defends their decision and cites their no-refund policies listed in the purchasing agreement, yet extends the validity of the 2020 ticket for admittance to Ultra Music Festival 2021. Scheduled for March 26th, 27th, and 28th, 2021 at Bayfront Park in Miami, FL, the scheduled live headliners include Flume, Major Lazer, and Gryffin. The DJ lineup is equally packed with talented artists such as David Guetta and DJ Snake. Although there is an uncertainty that Ultra Music Festival 2021 will take place, let’s hope for the best.
