KATY PERRY, AITANA OCANA, AND TIËSTO JOIN COCA-COLA WITH NEW TRACK FOR SHORT FILM

Transcending the narrow barriers constructed between musical genres, the collaboration between pop princess Katy Perry, promising up and coming Spanish vocalist Aitana Ocana, and the “godfather of EDM” Tiësto has been receiving major attention. Perry’s hit song “Resilience” from her 2020 Smile album is remixed by Tiësto and the lyrics are translated into Spanish in the 2nd verse performed by Aitana. As different as the song may sound, what does not change is the message; unity, positivity, and global understanding is more important now than ever as our reality and its unprecedented challenges can seem overwhelming.

Taking notice of the unique collaboration and positive message of the track, Coca-Cola contracted the trio of artists to feature in a short film promoting their latest marketing campaign. The soda conglomerate’s new slogan, “Open to Better ”, working also as the title of the short film accompanying the remixed pop song, “Open to Better”, attempts to reproduce the sense of unity and optimism in both Perry’s original lyrics and celebrate the internationally diverse collaborators of the new track.

The film parallels the sensitivity of Perry’s lyrics in its candid shots of its actors and is sure to feature the iconic Coca-Cola red for marketing. Companies like those who may offer web design services can also be consulted to further enhance their marketing efforts.

Perry raves in support of the collaboration; “To me, this campaign is about growing through challenges…growing from failure and getting through that challenge.”  European head of marketing for Coca-Cola Walter Susini echoes Perry’s sentiments. In an optimistic quote, Susini states “as we move towards the end of 2020, we are collaborating with Katy Perry to spread a message of hope and positivity, especially for the next generation.”
