SKRILLEX RELEASES SURPRISE NEW SINGLE WITH MORE MUSIC ON THE WAY
Last Friday, industry tastemaker Sonny Moore aka Skrillex, uploaded a surprise single to his Soundcloud titled “Kliptown Empyrean”. The track marks the first solo release from Skrillex in over a year, although he has worked on a number of collaborations in that time. “Kliptown Empyrean” serves as a placeholder to tie fans over while he finishes a “main body of work”. The prolific producer tweeted a cryptic late-night message to reveal the new single and forthcoming album.
Still finishing this main body of work but in the mean time I just made this today and wanted to put it out? https://t.co/OX0jTyIFi6

“Kliptown Empyrean” features softer synths, intricate drums, and an unexpected sample of Hilary Duff‘s voice from “What Dreams Are Made Of”. The single follows the ten year anniversary of Skrillex’s iconic EP, “Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites”. Since then, Skrillex has been on quite a journey with multiple projects and the launch of his label OWSLA. His impressive discography only continues to get better with time. The new downtempo offering hits in all the right places and leaves us anxiously awaiting more. Take a listen to the new track below.
