TCHAMI REVEALS DIVINE NEW SINGLE “FAITH” AHEAD OF ALBUM – [LISTEN]
Legendary Parisian DJ and producer Tchami has revealed his new brand single, “Faith” featuring Marlena Shaw. The track is out now on Astralwerks and UMG, and will be included on the artist’s forthcoming album titled Year Zero.
The song samples Marlena Shaw’s 1969 classic, “Woman of The Ghetto”. It borrows her elegant, soul-stirring gospel vocals in order to foster a modernized, dance-floor ready beat. Tchami of course pays homage to his house music roots, weaving euphoric melodies through a jarring rhythm. Such a familiar, blissful sound can be attributed to his mastery of future house, a term he coined himself.
Alongside the new tune is an official “Faith” music video. The visual representation features a careful juxtaposition of brightly colored images against run-down ones. In the same way, it mimics the broad contrast between the song’s lyrics and its sounds.
Tchami plans to release his debut LP Year Zero by the end of 2020. “Faith” marks his fifth single release of the year, following the double-single releases of “Born Again”/”Buenos Aires” and “Proud”/”Ghosts”, which will all be featured on the album. Having accumulated over 475 million streams across various platforms so far, we have no doubt Tchami’s album will be worth the wait.
Don’t be shy, allow Tchami’s “Faith” featuring Marlena Shaw transfix you.
