PORTER ROBINSON SHARES TOUCHING BACK STORY ON BRAND NEW SONG “MIRROR” – [READ]

After suffering through this strange and uncanny year that has resulted from COVID-19, fans of Porter Robinson are rejoicing. The artist has finally released his next single from the Nuture album, entitled “Mirror”.

Porter’s fanbase has been waiting on pins and needles for this new album, after the wild success of his past masterpiece ‘Worlds’. The first two singles that were released earlier this year, “Get Your Wish” and “Something Comforting” have already taken the EDM community by storm, evoking strong emotions and devotion from music fans galore.

Now “Mirror” joins the squad, with a stunning production value, beautiful lyrics and an overall vibe that can only be described as ‘Porter-esque’. The piano chords that build the track are phenomenally entrancing, and Porter’s voice rings heavenly throughout the piece. The final words echo, “Keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going, it will all be okay in the end.”

Porter released a statement on the song, only adding monumentally to the emotional factor of “Mirror”:

“mirror is a song about the costs of being hard on yourself. we all have these avatars that we give to our critical inner voices – we might imagine a scornful parent telling us we’ll fail, or a critic telling us our work comes up short, or a society telling us that we aren’t good enough – it’s about recognizing that most of this criticism is self-inflicted. for years, i was imagining the worst thing a critic might say about my music and looking at my own work as negatively as possible as a way to protect myself from criticism, but it never once served me. my hope is that other people can overcome this same kind of shame – it can be really liberating to recognize that most of the time, we’re only letting our own thoughts get in the way, and we can do something about it.”

Once the goosebumps from this single have subsided we can go back to pining after the rest of this remarkable collection of music.
