OOLACILE UNVEILS NEW PROJECT AND LABEL, “HALCYON”
Last week, user @HalcyonLV tweeted a cryptic IP address containing the title and tracklist for its first-ever release. Later, one user deciphered what is slated to be one of the most ambitious dubstep compilations of recent times. This afternoon, Oolacile officially unveiled his year-long project and record label, “Halcyon.”
Halcyon Sound Vol. 1
Svdden Death – Utah
Voltra – Instance
Oolacile – Dreams (Data)
Leotrix – Ekoboy303 (Side)
Akeos & i7 – Angel Portal
Phonon – Conic Sections
Cripplingg – Colors
BVSSIC – Disgust— Junki (@JunkiEDM) August 19, 2020
Most dubstep heads will recognize the two biggest names on here: Svdden Death and Oolacile (the founder of Halcyon). However, what makes this release so exciting is how much underground talent it features. Up-and-comers like Voltra, Akeos and Leotrix all have their own unique sound design, and constantly have their tracks played out by much larger artists.
The label provides these artists with the resources and creative direction to share their music and vision with the masses.
Surreal to finally bring Halcyon into the world. I hope this project can make a difference for the better. It's time to develop new sounds and artists. https://t.co/CIJnlowadd

The label will primarily focus around the novel “Future Riddim” genre. This type of dubstep is best characterized by its forward-thinking sound and seamless blend of melodic and chaotic sound.
Svdden Death’s “Utah” and Voltra’s “Instance,” which drop on Wednesday and Thursday mark the label’s first releases. Meanwhile, the full Halcyon Sound Vol. 1 compilation comes out this Friday.

As stated by Oolacile, “Halcyon approaches every release with the artists as the main priority. We look forward to exposing people to innovative new sounds from now and to the future.”
The future of dubstep is here, and it’s brighter than ever.
