ROBIN SCHULZ REWORKS BOB MARLEY’S CLASSIC “SUN IS SHINING” – LISTEN
Bob Marley’s critically acclaimed tune “Sun Is Shining” just received a fresh new sound from Robin Schulz. The grammy-nominated DJ and producer’s electronic spin on the classic is out now via Island Records.
In 1971, Bob Marley & The Wailers featured “Sun Is Shining” on their Soul Revolution album. Robin Schulz took the downtempo track and turned it up a notch. Adding an infectious bassline and jovial piano chords, this rework is now a club essential. This summer, the best we can do is dance at home and rock out in the car with the windows down.
Bob Marley’s remarkable legacy continues to live on, even as music evolves to the electronic sphere. Robin Schulz realizes the scope of this opportunity, “It is an absolute honour to be chosen to do this. Bob Marley is a true legend. It is a privilege and a highlight of my career to have the opportunity to add my individual note to this magnificent song. I am really looking forward to the release.”
Schulz emerged into the electronic scene in 2014 when he remixed “Waves” by Dutch hip-hop artist Mr Probz. The track went on to receive a Grammy nomination for ‘Best Remixed Recording’. Since then, he’s worked with big names like David Guetta, Cheat Codes, and more recently Winona Oak on their hit single “Oxygen”.
