KATY PERRY TO HEADLINE TOMORROWLAND’S VIRTUAL FESTIVAL

Although nothing shocks us anymore, 2020 just got a little more interesting. The world-class Tomorrowland Festival normally takes place annually in Belgium, but will be heading to the virtual hills this year. With the 2020 edition being called Tomorrowland Around the World, a new headliner has just been revealed: Katy Perry.

No stranger to the EDM world, Perry has collaborated with Zedd, Calvin Harris, Kaskade, and a few others. However, taking the main stage at a virtual festival is a pretty tough act to follow. If you’re having doubts, know that her performance is already expected to be one of the best. Her production will include mesmeric visuals along with various new songs from her forthcoming studio album, Smile. Not to mention, Perry is extremely pregnant and due basically any day now.

Tomorrowland Around the World will be utilizing 3D imaging paired with its signature fireworks and laser show. Virtual attendees will feel as close to the festival as possible, until it plans to make its physical return next year. For now, anyone can attend from just about anywhere in the world. All you need for entry is a ticket—which won’t sell out for the first time!

According to Variety, Perry spoke out about the upcoming performance. She noted, “I’ve always wanted to be a part of the fun of Tomorrowland, and have been following the amazing innovation, technology, and invention that this festival has always been about for a long time,” Perry said in a statement. “I’m so glad to be a part of this version, and I hope my set makes you smile.”

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
