DENVER’S BETA NIGHTCLUB SHUT DOWN FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING VIOLATIONS
Popular downtown Denver venue, Beta Nightclub is shut down after reports of repeated violations of the city’s Safer-At-Home order that was initiated to combat the impact of COVID-19. The Denver Department of Public Health (DDPHE) and Environment stopped its operation on June 20th, 2020 after they found the place full of people partying wearing no face masks or following CDC social distancing guidelines.

According to the news report, the DDPHE gave Beta Nightclub a citation on June 16th for violating the Safer-At-Home order because the establishment was operating as a bar.
The owner of the bar, Valences Corleons, claimed to have denied entry to 700 patrons on the night of the 20th to maintain a max capacity of 100 in addition to temperature checks at the door. Corleons also claimed that they provided masks to those who did not have one.
He expressed, “Every time somebody tried to dance, tried to get up, we asked them, ‘Please, this is the rule. Please comply.’ You know, we did our best.” As of right now Corleons has the option to appeal the order to close Beta Nightclub.
