Excision Drops Collab With Downlink – [Listen]
Longtime friends and collaborators, Downlink and Excision, dropped a heavy dubstep track this week, titled “Resistance,” featuring an eerily relevant and socially acute preface.
“Elevated humans of long lost Earth. Your land burns as the skies turn gray. The greed of world leaders has gone too far. The time has come to take back the planet. Initiate phase two. Power up the bass canons. Raise your fists – it’s your time to resist.”
Although the track initially premiered at Lost Lands Festival in 2018 during the world’s first Excision and Downlink B2B, there was not a more appropriate time to officially release the track. Excision’s infamous opening narrator, a guttural and gravely bass monster, sermoned a powerful image. With fists raised, the very emblem of the BLM movement, protesters across our country challenged our corrupt leaders, whose inefficacy laid waste to innocent lives.
All revenues generated from “Resistance” will benefit the Equal Justice Initiative, an organization that advocates for marginalized communities. According to their website, the EJI “is committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States, to challenging racial and economic injustice, and to protecting basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in American society.”
