MK’s remix of ‘Midnight (The Hanging Tree)’ boasts a carefree, summery club vibe. Trading in the more sensitive elements of the original version for a vibrant, sun-soaked energy, this track isn’t shy at all. Fans can always count on MK to breathe life into anything he touches—whether that be a stage or a song.

Both the original and the rework incorporate the notorious tune sung by Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games: Mockingjay film. The sample has certainly made its way through the dance industry, as it’s also a part of Michael Bibi’s track titled ‘Hanging Tree’.

Since its fruition, the original track has garnered nearly 14 million streams on Spotify. It has also seen remixes by notorious producers Henrik Schwarz and Themba. What better name than MK to enlist for a change of pace?

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
