Ibiza Rocks Proves to be a Beacon of Hope During Corona
After Pedro Sánchez, Spain’s Prime Minister, announced the opening of borders come July 1st, ravers all around the world shed a little tear. Spain’s decision to relax restrictions was an unpopular amongst its European neighbors and not met without controversy, however, c’est la vie in these coronavirus times. Spain’s infamous tourist destination, the one and only Ibiza, was quick to reimagine its summer season and adapt to new regulations as well as the relaxing of travel restrictions.
Ibiza Rocks released a statement touting their “open-air day venue” as one of “the safest environments to party in Ibiza,” imploring prospective tourists to consider cheap flight prices and summer adventures. Before you roll your eyes at the word “safest,” know that Ibiza Rocks has a point. Ultraviolet light exposure is a known method of sterilization, implemented in cleaning routines at hospitals all around the world. Regardless of whether you’re tanning at home or sipping cerveza poolside in Spain, the virus is difficult to contract when outside because the sunshine is unsuitable for pathogens. So when it comes to Ibiza this summer, wear a mask but go ahead and pump the gas!

Ibiza Rocks has also been keeping busy while passing time in corona’s interim, most notably exemplified by a documentary on Amazon Prime titled “This is Ibiza.” The documentary attempts to capture the oddly invigorating energy emanating from the island, the tourists that visit each year and their experiences, as well as the art that keeps those seeking entertainment entertained.
