CONRANK DROPS FILTHY DUBSTEP TRACK “OOBA” – [LISTEN]
Dubstep maestro Conrank is back with another slapper of a release with “Ooba”. Relentlessly unforgiving in nature from start-to-finish, the latest offering from the UK-based dance music mainstay is a master lesson in crafting palpably urgent sonic tension.
Several hard-hitting build-ups and drops carry the listener on a fierce rollercoaster of sound, leaving absolutely no time to catch a breath. Warbly soundscapes, wobbly bass, and a heady rhythm characterize much of the two-minute track. A trippy-sounding vocal also intermittently interjects ‘turn the lights off’ sporadically throughout, upping the anté and overall intensity of the tune even more.
The latest from Conrank directly follows his live-streamed RankFest online festival, his more recent Wakaan-released ‘White Noise Generation’ EP, as well as his collaborations ‘In The Dance’ with Jantsen and ‘Gunfinga’ with Protohype. The single marks the DJ/producer’s return to Circus Records after releasing ‘NO!’ alongside Mersiv with the revered dubstep label this January. Out now, it’s available for your listening pleasure across all streaming platforms.
