NASHVILLE BEGINS TO REOPEN LIVE MUSIC VENUES FOLLOWING STRICT GUIDELINES
COVID-19 has forced the hand of music venues to remain closed during quarantine. However, as certain states across the U.S. begin to reopen, music is slowly coming back to life. What better place to start than Nashville a.k.a. the Music City?
Starting this week, Nashville will be able to open restaurants and bars that host live performances throughout the city. This is part of the city’s Phase 2 of reopening, which will permit venues and retailers to reopen as long as they follow the 75% capacity guidance. In addition, social distancing guidelines must also be adhered to. Patrons as well as performers must keep at least ten feet of distance between themselves at all times.
Dance floors will continue to remain closed in order to discourage crowding. Plus, no more than two performers will be allowed on stage at a time. As far as sanitation standards go, equipment must be thoroughly cleaned between performances. Although it’s not the ideal scenario, having these venues open for business again is a giant step for the music industry.
According to the Digital Music News, the city’s mayor stated, “This Monday, May 25th, we will move on to Phase 2 of reopening Nashville. All public health metrics have shown satisfactory results.” Phase 2 also will be permitting gatherings of 25 people or fewer. This extends to parties, weddings, meetings, etc.
