NICHOLSON RELEASES HEAVY REMIX OF JAM & SPOON’S 1993 HIT “RIGHT IN THE NIGHT” – [LISTEN]
One of the busiest producers this new decade, Carl Nicholson returns once again with yet another powerful production. Out now on Black Hole Recordings, the latest from the seasoned London-based DJ/producer directly follows his remix of Bush Babies’ “Delicious”, and his original productions “Dirty Lil B*stard” and “Inflicted”. This time, he takes on Jam & Spoon’s groundbreaking 1993 rave hit “Right In The Night” featuring the hauntingly sonorous vocals of LA-based singer Plavka.

Harkening back to the old school warehouse vibe of the mid-to-early ‘90s, Nicholson transforms another Jam & Spoon track into a trance tour de force. His latest offering follows this February’s “Loops N Tings 2020”, his previous remix of the group’s other dance hit from the same year.
The rapid flamenco guitar plucking, Middle Eastern flair, and vocals remain much intact, however the bouncy vibe of the original is replaced in favor of a more driving, synth-driven rhythm. Percussively intense throughout, the almost four-and-a-half minute production’s newfound hardcore sensibilities shine effortlessly, courtesy of Nicholson’s veteran trance touch. Its consistently uncompromising ambience serves as a perfect sneak peek as to what’s to come later in the year with the slated upcoming release of his highly-anticipated full-length studio album Reverent.
