Livestream Highlight: Claptone In The Circus

In terms of livestreams, this is too dope not to highlight. Although Claptone was supposed to begin his return residency in Ibiza this summer, Corona had plans of its own. With his residency dismantled, Claptone finds new creative outlets. From April 22nd to August 5th, Claptone begins his newest project: circus livestream sets. Claptone promises to deliver spectacles of juggling, knife throwing, animal shows, and 40 exclusive/unreleased originals, remixes, and edits. Claptone shares his vision for the shows, citing nature as his inspiration:

“In these trying times, I’ve often found myself going on long, isolated walks to appreciate the beauty of nature. It was on one of these scenic, afternoon journeys that I first stumbled upon a tiny family-run circus. The circus director told me about their struggle to pay the rent and buy food for the animals since the pandemic hit, as they couldn’t put on public shows.”

The following day, I returned, this time, with fresh carrots in hand, hoping to be able to meet and feed the animals. It was then and there that I decided not simply to donate food and money, but to play specially themed and carefully selected sets at this little circus, involving parts of their show, to bring joy to my friends and fans in sound and vision.”

Last night’s debut live stream is up on YouTube – check it out below.

Heralding from sunny South Florida, I am a proud Florida Woman. In my free time, I surf the swamp, wrangle gators, open fan mail, and tend to my pets. In the wild, I'm most often spotted at immersive art spaces, step tappin' in a shadowed corner of the club, hater blockerz on, totally incognito as your resident EDM spice girl. Although I generally tout my spicy side, if there's one thing I'd love to impress upon the world, it would be this: it's not a waste to give love to those who do not deserve it – it's a gift. The world would be a better place if we gave, in kindness and in mercy, to those who need it most with no expectation in return.
