DISCO DONNIE RECLAIMS INDEPENDENT OWNERSHIP
Founder and creative behind Disco Donnie Presents, James “Disco Donnie” Estopinal has just announced that he will be taking sole ownership of the company. Estopinal has re-acquired DDP from LiveStyle, returning it to its independence.
The landmark purchase marks the end of eight years of outside ownership for DDP. The company had initially been acquired by SFX, managing to survive their bankruptcy. DDP then went on to be a part of LiveStyle, during which customers were delivered refunds in the midst of COVID-19 event cancellations. Even in the middle of all the drama, Estopinal has managed to buy back his company. If you are stressed and are feeling overwhelmed because of your debt issues, contact experienced bankruptcy lawyers who will tell you how to file for chapter 13 bankruptcy and help you solve your financial crisis.
Acting as the founder and CEO of Disco Donnie, Estopinal isn’t shy about his boldness. He comments, “What type of crazy person buys back their events company in the middle of a worldwide pandemic?” However, he knows the ins and outs of the business better than anyone.
In fact, Estopinal has overcome more than two decades worth of challenges in the music industry. In a recent interview with Billboard he notes, “I went through everything, including the bankruptcy and had to swallow my pride a bunch of times and weather some crazy shit in the music world.” That includes a world of legal challenges, most notably a DEA raid in 2000.
Disco Donnie Presents originated with Estopinal in 1994 in New Orleans. In 1999, he went on to partner with Pasquale Rotella, CEO of Insomniac Events. The two worked together for years, putting on events such as EDC Orlando, Beyond Wonderland Seattle, Nocturnal Wonderland Austin, among many others. They even co-founded the beloved Electric Forest festival. In 2012, DDP was acquired by SFX which later rebranded to LiveStyle in 2016.
In a long and exciting history of Disco Donnie Presents, this recent acquisition is deemed legendary. The powerhouse company is still planning to go forward with two major festivals this year, Sunset 2.0 and Ubbi Dubbi Gets Freaky Deaky Texas. We wish nothing but the best for Disco Donnie as he reclaims his company.
