RUSKO PUBLISHES PRIVATE SOUNDCLOUD ALBUM – [LISTEN]

In lieu of social activity and live sets, artists have utilized social media platforms to proliferate consumer content. Rusko, no different from his counterparts, has taken up arms against this modern plague, using music as his offense. On Monday, April 6th, Rusko shared a post to Twitter stating, “I spend a lot of time making whole different albums just for myself…. that no one ever hears… here is one.” Linked to the text was a Soundcloud compilation of 11 tracks, all released privately over a year ago. The album, titled “playlist1,” features simplistic album art and ostensibly random track titles such as “shilbotle_120” and “search_4_bigfoot1.”

Although most of Rusko’s stuff is a bass heavy and hard, this album is nothing short of ethereal – if Flume and Nora En Pure had a secret love child, this would be their musical-manifestation offspring. It’s calming, transformative, and trippy. Put her on and let her go, folks. Or rather, put her on and go somewhere.

Heralding from sunny South Florida, I am a proud Florida Woman. In my free time, I surf the swamp, wrangle gators, open fan mail, and tend to my pets. In the wild, I'm most often spotted at immersive art spaces, step tappin' in a shadowed corner of the club, hater blockerz on, totally incognito as your resident EDM spice girl. Although I generally tout my spicy side, if there's one thing I'd love to impress upon the world, it would be this: it's not a waste to give love to those who do not deserve it – it's a gift. The world would be a better place if we gave, in kindness and in mercy, to those who need it most with no expectation in return.
