DJS REMOVING EDC LAS VEGAS FROM SCHEDULES, HINTING TOWARD POSTPONEMENT
With the future of every festival for the next few months on the fence, talk of EDC Las Vegas has only become more widespread. Although Pasquale Rotella, founder and creator of Insomniac has not officially postponed the festival yet, it’s looking more likely with each day’s passing.
Since festivals began getting canceled, there was speculation that EDC would be among them. However, people have recently noticed that headliners have started to remove EDC Las Vegas from their schedules. The topic was initially stirred in a Reddit post by nickxix1, who stated the following:
“Just went online through a few DJs tour schedules. Saw that Garrix, W&W, David Guetta, Timmy Trumpet, Vini Vici all removed EDC from their tour schedule.
Probably even more but did not look any further.
Guess we do not have to wait till 30days prior to the event now :(“
Unfortunately, this information is correct, as Martin Garrix, W&W, David Guetta, Timmy Trumpet, and Vini Vici have all removed the event from their online schedules. Vini Vici and David Guetta still have tour dates remaining in April, but we are assuming it won’t be long until those are removed as well.
Pasquale made his most recent Headliner Update this past Thursday, March 26th. The following information was disclosed.
Although Insomniac seems to be remaining hopeful for its original dates, May 15-17th, it’s unlikely with the current state of the virus. It’s only been a few days since President Trump extended social distancing guidelines through the end of April, and we have not heard from Insomniac since then.
At this rate, we won’t be surprised to see more DJs begin to remove EDC Las Vegas from their upcoming schedules. The festival claims there are contingency plans for June in addition to addition dates in the fall. For now, we will keep a close eye out for announcements from Pasquale and Insomniac detailing the fate of EDC.
