Artist-To-Watch Pluko Premieres Avant-Garde Single – [Listen]

There are all different shades of human that populate the music industry, specifically the electronic genre. There are the icons, the heavy hitters who’ve been mixing sets and releasing music for over a decade. There are the house artists, the workaholics that frequent techno clubs and promote 24 hour sets. Then there are dubstep’s headbangers, big fans of riddim, and everything in between. And in that “in between” are the hybrid artists, those that don’t quite fit a mold, procuring dope, avant-garde music.

Pluko, hailing from Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, fits that hybrid category with a sound eerily akin to Flume, plus a hint of James Blake. But what’s particularly impressive is that pluko is merely 19 years old and already incredibly prolific (take a glance at his Spotify profile), with notable past performances at Coachella, Firefly Festival, and HARD Summer. In 2018 via Odesza’s Foreign Family Collective, pluko released his first full-length album, “sixteen.” Needless to say, pluko is an artist to watch and his most recent single “the lovely one” affirms that. According to pluko he really pushed himself beyond his comfort zone with this track and post composition he said he felt as though he had “broken down a massive wall.” He also went on to add, “There’s nothing better than that feeling of being onto something fresh and exciting.”

Heralding from sunny South Florida, I am a proud Florida Woman. In my free time, I surf the swamp, wrangle gators, open fan mail, and tend to my pets. In the wild, I'm most often spotted at immersive art spaces, step tappin' in a shadowed corner of the club, hater blockerz on, totally incognito as your resident EDM spice girl. Although I generally tout my spicy side, if there's one thing I'd love to impress upon the world, it would be this: it's not a waste to give love to those who do not deserve it – it's a gift. The world would be a better place if we gave, in kindness and in mercy, to those who need it most with no expectation in return.
