WAX MOTIF & TAIKI NULIGHT TEAM UP FOR BASS HOUSE COLLAB – [LISTEN]

Divided Souls Records huncho, Australian DJ Wax Motif, recently released a collaboration with U.K. artists Scrufizzer and Taiki Nulight titled “Skank N Flex,” a proper bass house switch up. Scrufizzer, formally known as Amary Lorenzo, is a popular MC from West London and his influence over the track, his flow and cadence, is paramount.

Scrufizzer’s career began back in 2007 with the dropping of his first mixtape “My First Steps,” which earned him acclaim and traction. After touring with Kendrick Lamar across the U.K. in 2013, Scrufizzer focused on the development of his specific sound, a fizzy flow oddly placed within the grime scene. For those unfamiliar with grime, it’s a popular genre of house in the U.K., most commonly played at tastefully dodgy underground raves. As an MC rapper with strong roots in electronic, Scrufizzer’s team up with house maestros Wax Motif and Taiki Nulight continues to further the relatively unexplored combo-genre that is rap-EDM, or as Scrufizzer would claim “rap rave.” Wax Motif, known for his disjunctive beats, both edgy and proactive, complements Scrufizzer’s sound in oye gooey, wrong-right ways.

Heralding from sunny South Florida, I am a proud Florida Woman. In my free time, I surf the swamp, wrangle gators, open fan mail, and tend to my pets. In the wild, I'm most often spotted at immersive art spaces, step tappin' in a shadowed corner of the club, hater blockerz on, totally incognito as your resident EDM spice girl. Although I generally tout my spicy side, if there's one thing I'd love to impress upon the world, it would be this: it's not a waste to give love to those who do not deserve it – it's a gift. The world would be a better place if we gave, in kindness and in mercy, to those who need it most with no expectation in return.
