i_o DROPS VIBRANT SECOND INSTALLMENT OF THREE-PART EP – [LISTEN]

The mysterious yet beloved DJ and producer i_o has released the second part of a three-part album project ‘444’. This new installment titled NRG 444 features four highly infectious tracks. Each one explores different elements of sound while honing in on a lively, uptempo rhythm.

Garrett Lockhart better as i_o has taken on the responsibility of reviving old school house and techno. Although he has some big shoes to fill in that aspect, he has failed to disappoint us. He describes NRG 444 to Forbes as a “more aggressive, uptempo EP, hitting at the rave sounds and hard dance vibes that became super popular in the UK, Europe and bigger cities, like New York.” The artist mentioned to the magazine that it’s more suitable to be played out during a main room, peak hour techno set.

Although each of the four tracks embody a unique soundscape, i_o stays true to a thumping techno beat. Eerie vocals are strung throughout the EP to enhance that overwhelming dance floor atmosphere you feel while listening.

The initial component to the series, ACID 444 honed in on i_o’s warehouse roots. However, this new installment boasts much more aggression and energy. Fans can expect the third part of the album to be released later on in the year, following the conclusion of his tour. It will showcase a much more melodic and progressive side of i_o’s talents.
