EXRON END OF THE YEAR: DANCE TRACKS OF THE DECADE THAT WILL KEEP YOU MOVING INTO 2020

This past decade was huge for the growth of electronic music and introduced us to many new and exciting dance tracks. Some notable tracks blossomed from artists like Tiësto, Chris Lake, DJ Snake, and posthumous Avicii. These tracks among many more changed the way we interpret music. What’s even more exciting is the music that we will be introduced to in the upcoming year + decade. Exron Music compiled a list of the tracks from the past decade that will keep us swaying, shuffling and singing well into the new decade.

1. Higher Ground (2012)

“Higher Ground” by TNGNT, Hudson Mohawke and Lunice is an electronic hip-hop classic that’s been played on repeat since being released in 2012. With its upbeat tempo and bass-filled drop, this banger never loses it’s hype and promises to keep a crowd on their toes.

2. Wake Me Up (2013)

“Wake Me Up” by Avicii was the fastest-selling single after being released in 2013. It’s folky beat and heartfelt lyrics fill fans with a form of nostalgia when played. We almost can’t help but sway and sing along. This track is definitely seen as one of the more impactful songs of the decade and will always have a place in fan’s hearts, at festivals and anywhere in between.

3.Get Low (2014)

“Get low when the whistle blows,” is a phrase that will hype up a crowd for years to come. This collaboration between Dillon Francis and DJ Snake has a 90’s hip-hop house style infused with a worldly vibe that causes people everywhere to move their bodies in one way or another.

4. Don’t You Worry Child (2014)

This progressive house anthem by Swedish House Mafia will always cause us to dance and sing. The track was first premiered at the MK Bowl in 2012 and released later that year. After seven years the song still fills us with sentimentality and leaves a smile on our faces.

5. Boom (2017)

Known as a “club staple,” BOOM by Tiësto with Gucci Mane and Sevenn is a bass filled g-house track. This collaboration will have any crowd on their feet in no time. It was one of the hottest hits that year and still causes a reaction from party-goers today.

6. Losing It (2018)

“Losing It,” a tech-house track by FISHER and Chris Lake took the world by storm in 2018. This song has been mixed into electronic sets by Hardwell, Alison Wonderland, Tiësto and more at music festivals all around the world. Every time that horn drops, the crowd breaks out into a shuffling frenzy.

7. Turn Off The Lights (2018)

The upbeat tempo and seemingly perfect synchronization between the lyrics and tone of  “Turn Off The Lights” leave listeners with a treat. The future house anthem by Chris Lake and WAV featuring Alexis Roberts has been played non-stop since it’s release.

8. Fun (2018)

Released at Ultra Music Festival at Miami in 2018, “Fun” by Kaskade, BROHUG and Mr. Tape was an immediate hit. The pop-infused house track keeps the crowd moving due to its funky beat featuring chimes and bells. It’s a dance track like no other.

9. Good Enough (2018)

 

When Alison Wonderland drops “Good Enough” during her shows, we get a feeling of excitement and unification that resonates with everyone in the crowd. Between the use of her electric cello and the build-up leading to the songs infamous drop, the 2 minute and 18-second banger creates a vibe that spreads through us and has us moving in a heartbeat.

10. Taki Taki (2019)

French superstar, DJ Snake’s song Taki Taki, featuring Selena Gomez, Cardi B and Ozuna is a “bilingual banger.” And is the latest reggaeton track to become a star-studded pop hit. Released in 2019, the fast-paced eccentric beat and provocative lyrics keep the crowd going.

11. Griztronics (2019)

This funky dubstep track from Griz and Subtronics really does hit differently. Released in the album, “Bangerz 2,” Griztronics shows the heavier, more bass filled side of Griz that will keep people jumping, fist-pumping and headbanging into the year 2020.

12. SOS (2019)

The first posthumous release, SOS by Avicii, featuring Aloe Blacc deserves an honorable mention. While the song explains some of the battles Avicii faced, it’s upbeat rhythm and original beat embeds itself in your head. SOS makes us want to hold our loved ones a little tighter; something we should let resonate with us heading into the new decade.
