DIRTYBIRD’S JUSTIN JAY DROPS NEW EP ‘DON’T TRIP’

Dirtybird’s own Justin Jay is back in the spotlight with his new EP Don’t Trip Like This. Out now on Dirtybird Records, the three-track collection features an infectious rhythm that’s hard to resist.

The lead track ‘Don’t Trip’ is marked by a groovy sound that pulls us in. It’s characterized by bouncy basslines that tie everything together. The next tune, ‘Like This’ features a more fierce beat, as its heavy thump can be felt in the soul. Not to mention, it pays homage to Jay’s more experimental side with erratic octave jumping.

The third track is really quite the treat. ‘Don’t Trip’ (JJ’s Fastboi88 Re-trip) is a sped up techno version of the first song. This dark, hypnotic sound leads in with eerie vocals followed by a compelling beat that could easily command an entire room. The track allows Jay to channel his new Fastboi88 alias, which has already seen success in his live sets.

Since putting out his first record in 2011, Justin Jay has created a name for himself. He’s headlined shows around the world, produced chart-topping anthems, produced an album and even created a full live band called Fantastic Voyage.
