NEW MUSIC VENUE RADIUS TO OPEN DOORS IN CHICAGO
When it comes to music, Chicago is a great city to be a part of. An all new venue, Radius is scheduled to open its doors early next year in East Pilsen, just south of The Loop. Already booked with some of the biggest names in the industry, the future of Radius has Chicago residents hopeful for success.
Independently owned and operated, the space encompasses 55,000 square feet, with a capacity of 2,500 to 3,800 people. It’s equipped with a state-of-the-art- D&B KSL sound system and remarkable acoustics. The layout will feature a mezzanine level to host VIP guests, luxurious artist lounges, a comfortable outdoor smoking section, and nine full-service bars. Serving both craft beers and specialized cocktails, guests can enjoy an assortment of beverages along with a spectacular musical performance.
Since being transformed from an old steel factory, Radius will deliver a modern artistic experience. Located at 640 Cermak Rd., Chicago, IL 60616, the venue is situated right in the heart of a trendy neighborhood that’s decorated with bright, funky murals. Radius will display three breathtaking murals created by Lefty Out There, Thank You X and NYCHOS.
Located inside of the venue, Cermak Hall will serve as a pre and post-event space to enhance the overall experience of guests. This 10,000 square foot space will feature its own entrance, and cater to all sorts of programming and private events.
Upcoming events will feature prominent names in electronic music like Dillon Francis, Carl Cox, and Tchami. Hip-hop artist Lil Wayne will also be making an appearance. For those who love a good rock show, look forward bands such as Killswitch Engage with August Burns Red and Light The Torch, Alkaline Trio and Bad Religion, and Australian psych-rock band King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.
Radius owner and operator Nick Karounos comments on the project, “We were looking for a scalable, multi-purpose venue space to house a state-of-the-art concert facility with modern art and design elements at the forefront, and we’ve created it with RADIUS,” states Karounos. “This project has been 4 years in the making and we are beyond excited to show Chicago and the rest of the world what we have built for music lovers of all genres.”
Karounos has helped shape the music scene in Chicago much earlier than this, though. He is the owner and operator of popular venues Concord Music Hall, the MID, and PRYSM Nightclub.
Tickets for the upcoming shows are now available here through Radius’ official ticketing partner AXS.
