MITIS RELEASES SHATTERED EP ON OPHELIA RECORDS

MitiS has finally dropped his long-awaited debut EP on Seven Lions’ Ophelia Records. Shattered is a three-track collection of some of the best melodic bass we’ve heard in a while. It’s not just beautiful music, it’s one of those EPs that takes you on a journey.

Seven Lions and MitiS have always had close ties, as collaborators and friends. The soulful style that MitiS stands by is a perfect fit for the label. If you aren’t already a fan, you may recognize the name MitiS from his song ‘Break the Silence’ with Seven Lions. The track was released earlier on in the year and featured RBBTS.

Shattered is the epitome of feel-good music. It will make your heart sing in ways you never knew imaginable. Tense build ups paired with explosive drops create an atmosphere of magic and bliss. While ‘Mirrors’ is purely instrumental, ‘Home’ features the angelic vocals of Nick Warner, and ‘Shattered’ borrows the delicate voice of RUNN.

As a classically trained pianist, MitiS blends his knowledge with electronic production and his traditional music skills to create a unique sound. He refers to his aesthetic as “New Age Classical”, making him the ideal addition to the Ophelia family.

MitiS offers his take on Shattered, “This EP I felt a lot of growth as a producer. I stepped out of what I’m used to and really dug into the songwriting side of things – not just production. The songs, especially ‘Shattered’, mean a lot to me. RUNN really portrayed the message of the instrumental I had sent over to her. I’ve been playing it out for a few months around the world and every time it’s gotten such an emotional reaction, which is exactly what I was looking for.”

Listen to MitiS’ exquisite Shattered EP to give your soul a cleanse.

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!

What's your reaction?
