OKEECHOBEE RETURNS ANNOUNCING 2020 LINEUP INCLUDING CONTROVERSIAL HIPPIE SABOTAGE
The Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival announces its long-awaited return to Florida on March 5th-8th 2020. Okeechobee is known for its stacked lineup across a range of genres, and this year did not disappoint. We can expect special performances from major headliners Rufus du sol, Bassnectar, Vampire Weekend and Mumford & Sons.
On opening night festival go-ers will kick off their weekend vibes with sets from ARIZONA, Said the Sky, Phantoms, and a special Bassrush opening party featuring Caspa, Ivy lab, Yheti, Huxley Anne, and Supertask.
Despite the stacked lineup, many festival-goers have varied opinions with the festival’s choice of adding Hippie Sabotage. The brother duo has created quite the stir in the last few years during their festival sets, most specifically during ‘What The Festival’, where they incited a massive fight on stage, disrespecting event security. They have also garnered some enemies among their artist peers with their negative energy, causing fans to no longer support their festival bookings. With the outrage that has occured since the lineup dropped, Hippie Sabotage has blocked many on the EDM Twitter network. It will be interesting to see how their invitation to play at Okeechobee 2020 will work out with the fit that has ensued.

Hippie Sabotage got in a fight and choked out a security guard on stage at a festival and have regularly shown themselves to be insufferable douchebags, but here they are still getting booked for major festivals. I truly don’t get it.

Okeechobee was eventually bought out by Insomniac, the same company running Electric Daisy Carnival and Holy Ship, after its hiatus in 2019. Still offering an array of different artists, we can see the change that came with Insomniac’s procurement reflected in heavy dj selection for the 2020 lineup.
Playing alongside electronic music acts look for performances from Sublime with Rome, Bob Moses, and a welcomed return from Glass Animals who cancelled their set in 2018 due to injury. For the rap enthusiasts, the 2020 lineup serves some heat with artists including Machine Gun Kelly, Flatbush Zombies, Gunna, and more.
Purchase your tickets for Okeechobee 2020 on sale on Friday, October 18th at 10am ET.
