EXCISION + WOOLI LINK UP FOR EVOLUTION EP

Just in time for his annual bass oriented festival, Lost Lands, Excision has teamed up with Wooli for their Evolution EP. The four-track collection features a brand new song “Lockdown”, along with the title track and two massive collaborations. A combination of head splitting bass, melodic dubstep, and searing vocals make Evolution a candidate for the most notable EP in the bass music scene for the year.

“Another Me”, a combined effort with Seven Lions featuring vocalist Dylan Matthew definitely takes the cake as the emotional banger of the four. Matthew’s angelic voice paired with Seven Lions’ euphoric drops create the perfect backdrop for Excision and Wooli to release mayhem. A collab with Trivecta, “Oxygen” featuring Julianne Hope knows how to hit us right in the feels, too.

The title track, “Evolution” featuring Sam King is lively and energetic. Excision and Wooli both showcase their roots in heavy bass on this one. Finally, all we have to say about “Lockdown” is that it resembles a punch right to the face. We’re not joking— this one stings!

This isn’t the first time that dubstep mastermind Excision has worked with Wooli. The two have previously crossed paths for Wooli’s remix of “Her” featuring Dion Timmer. Wooli has also worked with Seven Lions not too long ago on their collab with Trivecta titled, “Island”. He’s currently embarking on his headline Voyage tour across the North America, with opening sets from Trivecta, Computa and WAREZ.

Wooli offers some thoughts on the Evolution EP, “Excision has supported my music for a long time, and the EP came naturally when we linked up in the studio. I’m excited to share our signature sound with some more melodic tracks.”

With over ten years of touring under his belt, Excision is constantly pushing boundaries. Not to mention, he calls two huge music festivals, Lost Lands and Bass Canyon his own. His shows are otherworldly, featuring bone-shaking bass and one of a kind visuals. Crowds are demolished to a pulp by the time Excision is done with them. Not to mention, countless singles, collabs, mixes, full-length studio albums, and EPs have shown us what the artist is truly capable of.

This Evolution EP is no joke, check it out for yourself below.

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
