OTIRA DROPS SPICY DEBUT EP ‘NIGHT IS SHORT’

If the name Otira sounds mysterious yet familiar, it should. He recently launched an epic collaboration on Dog Blood’s new EP, titled ‘Kokoe’. After spending time in the studio with Skrillex and Boys Noize, this talented producer has come up with a masterpiece of his own via Good Enuff. Otira’s ‘Night Is Short’ EP features five carefully crafted tracks that shed light on the origins of the modern day rave.

Otira’s nostalgic style is what allows him to stand out among the rest in the game. Fusions between jungle, hardcore, gabber, techno and breakbeat are what bring this EP to life. We get a little taste of everything, with opportunities to indulge here and there. And we didn’t hesitate to dive in.

Listening to ‘Night Is Short’ is like looking into the birth of the rave through a kaleidoscope lens. We get bits and pieces of our favorite sounds, while being mesmerized by their competing energies. In it’s entirety, the animated and fast-paced beat of the EP is totally irresistible. You’ll probably break a sweat just listening—the dance floor is a whole new story.

Above all, Otira has kept the spirit of the rave alive with ‘Night Is Short’. This collection is meticulous and sincere, reminding us that soul is still a part of electronic music. Without a doubt, it can fill a room of dancers with a fiery passion in their hearts and in their feet!

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
