Australia’s Chris Emerson, better known as What So Not and rising producer Diablo have joined forces to engineer ‘OOGAHDAM!’. Being their first collaboration, we hardly had any idea what to expect. However, these two knew exactly what they were doing. Released on Mad Decent and Sweat It Out, this spicy new beat is sure to keep energy levels high this summer.

what so not

What So Not and Diablo employ an infectious drum and bass sound to reel listeners in as the pace steadily increases. Not to mention, its fun and upbeat rhythm is sure to keep dancing feet occupied for hours. To keep its momentum going strong, ‘OOGAHDAM!’ is expected to receive an official music video directed by Justin Frick. We’re excited to see the track’s colorful lead synth come to life on screen.

“For me 2019 is about being free and spontaneous,” says Emerson. “It’s getting back to: This feels right for this moment. Let’s put it out in the world now.” It’s exhilarating for fans to recognize when music comes from a special place to a producer. In such a fast paced scene, originality and emotion go a long way.

If the name Diablo sounds fresh to your ears, we’ll familiarize you. Emerging from the South Florida grunge-rap scene, the 23-year-old prodigy cultivates a sound that combines hip-hop, punk, trash-metal, and EDM. This young phenomenon has already collaborated with legends such as Lil Pump, Smokepurpp, Lil Xan, Kodak Black, and Wifisfuneral.

If you can’t seem to get enough, look out for this infectious tune to be played out at upcoming festivals this summer. And since you’re here, give the track a listen for yourself!

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
