Shiba San Animates Tallahassee During His Spring 2019 Tour

Parisian producer Shiba San is currently aboard his electrifying North American spring tour titled “Parlez-Vous Français” with Tim Baresko. As the artists passed through Florida, we had the privilege of checking them out live.

Shiba San’s background in hip-hop music has allowed him to beautifully transform his music into a bold house sound. His Tallahassee show took place at The Standard, where he demonstrated the epitome of his talents. The artist electrified the crowd while remaining totally unpredictable. There wasn’t a single moment in which we knew what was coming next. Each transition was smooth yet thrilling.

It became pretty clear that Shiba San’s performance was rooted in a raw house sound. His level of engagement with the crowd remained unparalleled. It was hard to find an instance in which the attendees weren’t cheering him on. Shiba San provided Tallahassee with a night of nonstop dancing to old and new music, while showcasing his own creations throughout. We’d also like to commend Tim Baresko, his label’s (Basement Leak) rising star on a stellar performance to set the stage for the night.

2018 was a huge year for Shiba San as he toured through North America, South America, Europe, Australia and Asia. His debut release on DFTD Records, “All I Need” with  Tim Baresko, dominated Beatport’s overall chart at the #1 position for over a month. The track found a home on multiple ‘Best of 2018’ lists while garnering support from Pete Tong, Calvin Harris, David Guetta, in addition to many others.

With plenty of global performances lined up, there’s no doubt that 2019 is already looking promising for Shiba San. In addition to stops on his current North American tour, fans should expect to see the artist’s name on many big festival lineups as well. These will include Defected London and Croatia, Festival Vaivén in Mexico, Phoenix Lights, Summer Camp Music Festival, Elements Campout Lakewood, among others to be announced.

Shiba San’s funky upbeat sound was just the right energy we needed to carry us through the night. It’s evident that he has a story to tell through his music, which attendees sure appreciated. Plus, it’s always nice to feel some soul rather than just hearing the sound.

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
