Felix Cartal And LIGHTS Release New Collab “Love Me”

Felix Cartal and electro-pop singer songwriter LIGHTS have released a collaboration track titled “Love Me”. Featuring an uptempo drum beat, funky guitar strums, deep key chords, as well as catchy and powerful lyrics. While this is an excellent song to dance to if you take a listen to the lyrics you will find that it is a song about two lovers with different desires in their relationship.

“I am trying not to let these mind games play me

I’m down to be your casual lady

Long As I got you lovin on me”

In the early parts of the song the singer is trying to fight her desire to have a more serious relationship. She knows she wants more but her partner doesn’t. She is essentially saying she wants this man so badly that she is willing to forsake what she really wants out of this relationship rather than lose her chance to be with this person. This changes toward the end of the song:

“So this could be a cruel summer
Or a real lover, tell me how you want it to go
But I don’t need another issue
Don’t wanna miss you
Love me or just let me go

I can’t get you off of my mind
Why do I keep wasting my time
Man you make it easy for me
So why can’t I make you love me?”

After spending more time with this person her unrequited feelings and desires are taking their toll on her. She wants him to choose or lose her instead of continuing this fling that she wants to become something real.
