CONFESSION Label Releases Debut EP of New Signee Saint Punk

Saint Punk is a former punk rocker who took his desire to make hardcore punk music and transformed it into some heavy banging electronic beats. His debut EP from Tchami’s label CONFESSION features two singles “Daddy” and “Disko”, both tracks feature gritty synths, and frequently transition between booming trap beats and up tempo electro-house. For punk rock lovers this artist is a perfect influence of both genres. Saint Punk makes it fascinating to see how his punk influence manifests in his music. 

There aren’t many elements of punk music in his work but rather the spirit and emotional drive of punk. Saint Punk spoke of his musical intentions for the song “Daddy”: “ I wanted to create a haunting and gritty hip hop/ house song with aggressive energy and huge in your face drops.” This track features heavy trap drums, deep vocal mods, and genre bending changes from trap to hard house.

The second track on the EP “Disko” has very similar musical structure and style to “Daddy” but is more-so in the realm of fast and hard house with a couple transitions into trap as opposed to “Daddy” which is the other way around musically. 

Saint Punk’s music is an interesting take on EDM, clearly unique enough for Tchami to sign him to CONFESSION. It will be exciting to see how Saint Punk’s style will develop and evolve as he continues to create music.
